World of Warcraft (or WoW) is a fantasy world, full of magical and unreal characters, nine classes of characters in total – this is the World of Warcraft character guide to help you work out who is who.
Druids.
Druids are ever-changing warriors that can take on many guises, one of which is a caster – as such, he can perform spells (damage, healing, offensive and defensive support spells) and even bring players back to life if they are killed in combat.
If the Druid takes on the form of a bear, he acts as a tank, protecting others on his destructive way. If the Druid takes on the form of a Moonkin, he gives off an aura and has armour that is beneficial to members of his party. Druids are the keepers of the world and protectors of balance.
Rogue.
A Rogue has the fastest combat speed of all the WoW characters, can pick locks, and are expert assassins. No-one is safe when one is around – they can destroy mobs and therefore have limited crowd control. They are deadly and deceptive, and are a class of damage-dealers hell bent on destroying single targets.
Priest.
Most characters in WoW have healing capabilities, but a Priest has the most powerful. They have the ability to possess humanoid monsters, bring players back to life and the power to control hate.
Hunter.
Hunters rely on their crossbows, guns and bows as their primary source of attack – although they can also tame and train animals to help them on the battlefield. Hunters have the ability of Aspects, which allows them to passively progress in their skills as they move through the game and take on the traits of beasts and animals.
They also lay traps to slow down or kill other players. Because of his abilities, he can access the maximum security areas – making him a valuable addition to your team. Hunters are in the game to maintain balance with the animal world.
Mage.
The Mage are a magic-using class, relying on their magic to defeat their enemies.
Paladin.
Defenders of the weak and enemies of the undead (against whom they have offensive capabilities), the Paladin refer to themselves as the Order of the Silver Hand. They are able to heal others and take a lot of damage themselves.
Shaman.
The Shaman are a hybrid class(mage/warrior/priest), and like Shaman in other walks of life they receive their power from ‘natural spirits’. They share a partnership with the five spirits (Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Wild). They are one of the most versatile races in the game. They have the ability to summon totems, to provide support or damage for the Shaman.
Warlock.
Warlocks are a type of Mage that have delved too far into the darker aspects of magic. They can summon four types of demons – Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus and Felhunter. Warlocks can summon demonic steeds, drain the souls of their victims and possess various other curses and talents.
Warrior.
Warriors excel in melee combat, playing the role of tank or damage dealer. They use rage to power their abilities,Cheap WoW Gold and they need to stay in combat in order to maintain their level of rage.
Not all races come in all classes, for example, the undead can’t be a Shaman, nor can a human. But a human or an undead can be a Priest. Now that you know the World of Warcraft characters, get out there and start playing.
