There are a more than a dozen different options for those looking to supplement their World of Warcraft gaming time with a little professional flair and money making. Professions range from the most basic of gathering options to the fully detailed gathering and crafting of blacksmithing and alchemy. Depending on your needs, professions can gain you large sums of gold or provide much needed armor and materials that would cost you dearly otherwise.
Cooking is yet another of those professions, and for those players who need food to heal, it’s not a bad idea to try your hand at this profession to save a bit of gold and discovery all of the fun that World of Warcraft cuisine has to offer. Food is everywhere in Azeroth. You’ll pick up cuts of meet all over from the mobs and animals you kill and can easily build your supply up over time. There’s no need to buy anything from a vendor if you play the game correctly.
The first step is to find a good cooking trainer. There are cooking trainers for every corner of the map, depending on your race and class when you start playing. Go through the basic training and you should be an apprentice cook, ready to play. You’ll need tinder, a flint and some wood on you at all times so you can build a cook fire and put your ingredients to use. There are numerous places throughout the world where you can find existing fires,WoW Gold but it’s always best to be prepared.
For those looking to become an Artisan cook, there are dozens of quests you can undergo. You should already be at level 225 in cooking to get started on the more advanced quests and have an Expert Cookbook. These can be purchased in Shadowprey Village in Desolace for Horde members and Silverwing Refuge in Ashenvale for Alliance members.
After you have your cookbook and the necessary skill to get started, it’s time to head off to one of two places to find your cooking trainers for higher levels. For Horde players, head to Zamja in Ogrimmar and for Alliance you can find help with Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge.
Most people don’t choose cooking. For that reason you should be able to find many of the recipes you’re looking for fairly easily. They show up in multiple places, including as rewards for quests and on various mob kills. You should keep your eyes open as well as certain recipes can only be found on holidays or with certain quests. If all else fails, the auction house is always a great place to go to find recipes that you may have missed out on.
For those that devote enough time to cooking and advancing your cooking skills, you can build up your revenue by selling your skills and wares to other players in need of food. If you combine fishing with your cooking skills you will be set for the duration of the game, both with gold and with replenishable food supplies.
